The challenge
The Sydney Institute of Traditional Chinese Medicine runs accredited teaching programs and a busy student clinic. Balancing academic systems, patient records, and clinical data meant managing a large amount of sensitive information that needed to stay protected.
Cyber threats across education and health were rising, and the Institute needed more visibility and control over its Microsoft 365 environment. The small IT team managed daily operations well but didn't have the time or tools for round-the-clock monitoring and response. They needed a trusted local partner who could strengthen security without disrupting classes or clinic operations.
The solution
IronSights implemented the Fortify Managed Cybersecurity Service to give the Sydney Institute of Chinese Medicine enterprise-level protection with a simple monthly plan. Fortify provided 24x7 monitoring through a local Security Operations Centre, covering Microsoft 365, endpoints, and network activity.
It included threat detection and response aligned with the ACSC Essential Eight, along with vulnerability management, patch oversight, and policy enforcement to lift the Microsoft Secure Score. DNS filtering protected both remote and on-campus users, while leadership reports and improvement roadmaps kept management informed.
IronSights worked closely with the Institute to deploy security baselines, activate Defender for Office 365, and establish clear response and escalation procedures.
